Oodua People's Congress reformed leader, Ambassador Oludare Adesope have urged people of Southwes to distance themselves from the planned August 1st nationwide protest against the Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Addressing newsmen on Friday at the OPC Headquaters in Lagos where the leader adviised Yoruba desendants not to allow themselves to be used as tools by “unpatriotic” persons to destabilise the country in the name of national protests or strikes.
In his words, we just got to know through our Intel that the intended protest will be hijacked and will be loss of lives, property destroyed, vandalised.By virtue of this ,I am appealing to all the youths within yoruba territory to shun the protest. Should we give help hand to people who are not happy about the development in the Southwest to destroy our heritage.
.
However, anyone that want protest should go to their various states to do so because the outcome of 'End Sars' can't be forgotten easily, the lost lives and property during the protest cant be reverse rather, the government is using money needed for new infrastructures to fix the damage so i am imploring every yoruba youth to learn how to safe their heritage, do not help to destroy them. We, members of OPC(R) are ready to assist the police to register peace at this period so that the hoodlums will not hyjack the protest.
The OPC boss explain further that the planned protest was being driven by “certain people with ulterior motives owing post election bitterness and personal agendas thereby igniting their mission by attempting to incite unrest through protests and strikes."
Their mission is to instigate the young people using the incidents of protests and riots in Kenya but we wont allow that in our country.
Responding to the socio-political milestone celebration scheduled to host in September, the OPC boss said the anniversary tagged ‘OPC at 30’ which has erupt many controvarsy since when the Gani Adams faction announces its intent to celebrate the 30th anniversary in a grand style.
Adesope in his opinion said Gani Adams is just an attention seeker and should not be taking seriously as he is not doing anything to put things in place in yoruba land as aare ona kakanfo 'The honour of the 30th anniversary should be given to the founder, Late Dr. Frederick Isiotan Fasehun.
