GOVERNOR SANWOOLU PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO OBA ABDULHAKEEM BABATUNDE OLOKODANA, THE ALAKODO OF AKODO, AS HON. OLOWA CALLS FOR COOPERATION WITH THE TRADITIONAL STOOL




It was a moment of joy as the first traditional ruler of Akodo town, HRM Oba Abdulhakeem Babatunde Olokodana was installed today and presented with the instrument of appointment and staff of office by the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Roberts.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Mr. Bolaji Roberts hailed the process of the Obaship selection process, which he acknowledged  was a fair and transparent process that was seamless. The governor who rejoiced with the sons and daughters of Akodo used the moment to call on them to give the newly installed king the maximum support needed in order to move the community forward. 

Speaking further, the governor congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulhakeem Babatunde Olokodana and amonished him to be a rallying point  for the entire people for the collective development of the kingdom while calling on the elders to uphold the tenets of tradition and safeguard the traditional stool as the state government administration will continue to deliver on the dividends of democracy.

Also speaking was the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, who appreciated the Lagos State Governor for always putting Ibeju Lekki ahead in terms of development as just recently, seven Kings were installed, which indeed signalled a great moment. Hon. Olowa used the moment to call on the sons and daughters of Akodo to cooperate with the new king as he prayed that his reign would attract unprecedented success in Akodo and by extension, Ibeju Lekki Local Government.

Dignitaries present were Traditional Royal Fathers, Baales in Council, Legislators, Executive cabinet members, Management Staff, Political leaders, and many more.
