Congolese Artist, Awilo Longomba (inventor of Techno Soukous) was the first world-renowned African Artist of the 21st Century, he was the most played Artist in Africa as a whole (especially in West Africa - even in Nigeria) from 2002-2004.
"African music is international, because the first sound of music came from Africa, and Africa is the mum of Music in the world". Awilo Longomba said .
Awilo Longomba, a Congolese music legend filled up 45,000 capacity National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria in 2000.
No Artiste has been able to replicate this till date.
He also filled up 22,000 capacity Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.
He was arguably the hottest Artist in Nigeria then.
His hits, Coupe Bibamba, Karolina, Gate Le Coin, Cache Cache were all huge in Nigeria.
