I thought It Was against Christianity: Deeper Life Church Pastor who Became King after 10 Years of Fleeing

A Deeper Life Bible Church pastor who became king in his community has shed light on some events that played out before his coronation

King Matthew Jegede said when he told church leaders and members about the idea of him returning to his Ekiti community to become a king, but they disapproved of it

The pastor said he kept 10 years away from the kingship for 10 years and was surprised at what happened on the day he received the staff of office

The head who wears the crown has opened up on some challenges he faced on the road to becoming a king in Ekiti state.

In an interview, King Matthew told a trending online TV that his church people were not in support when the talk of him taking the kingship came up.

He also personally had reservations about it as he had thought that becoming a king as a Christian was against God's plan.

"I initially thought it was against God's plan to become the King ...I also thought that if one wants to go to heaven, it will be difficult, he said."

According to him, the church told him to pray about it. However, he first ignored their directive before committing to it.

Matthew said he kept having king-like dreams, confirming that he was born to be the king.

And after running away from the kingship for 10 years, he accepted it, not minding his church members' sentiment against it.

But to his surprise, on the day Governor Fayemi handed him the staff of office, the same former church members who knocked him for deciding to be a king graced the occasion
