Few hours earlier to the event, the widow of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Bianca Ojukwu, described the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo the new governor of Anambra State as “Liberation Day.”
In a statement posted to her Facebook page on Thursday, Ojukwu said, “It’s Liberation Day, and today we sing the Redemption Song. Anambra will be better!”
She described the inauguration of the new governor as “the long-awaited return to the promised land,” calling the day “a day that reaffirms the age-long truth that no-one holds the stage forever.”
“I used to wonder….But now I know.
“Now I know just how those Israelites felt on the day they took those tentative first steps out of the land of Egypt….Just the sheer excitement and anticipation of liberation, the long-awaited return to the promised land must have kept them awake through that night.
“This is the Day the Lord has made…a day that reaffirms the age-long truth that no-one holds the stage forever. I thank the Almighty for keeping us all alive to witness this day.
However, Oputa an aid to the new governor explained how Bianca Ojukwu gots entangled with Ebelechukwu Obiano which got them involved in a fracas at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra.
According to Oputa, who was at the event, it was Mrs Ojukwu who slapped Mrs Obiano.
He also claimed that Mrs Obiano said much more than was reported in the media.
“If you saw what happened, you would be irritated. From the way she came in lackadaisically and how she left her seat and walked over to Bianca who sat about two seats away from her to mock her and call her a bitch.” Mr Oputa said.
