Rebranded: Ota Gears to lighten Awori Land with Iganmode Festival 

Ota, a popular commercial commercial hub in Ogun State is set to hold the ‘biggest Cultural Festival in the entire Awori land.

Iganmode cultural festival took a new shape with eventful scenes since the emergence of HRM Oba Prof. Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota.

This year event which will mark 26th of Iganmode celebration and this year’s event, would be the 3rd since Oba Adeyemi came on board as the Olota of Ota 4 years ago.

While speaking with newsmen during a press convergence at Oba Isiyemi hall, Olota of Ota palace in Ota on recently, the Chairman of 2021 Iganmode Cultural Festival, Aare Dele Bankole, said, this year event tagged, ‘Culture, A Module for Sustainable Leadership’, is centered at showcasing indigenous cultural heritage, and also to register good relationship between Awori Land and its environment. 

According to Aare Dele Bankole

He added that the Cultural Festival is a ‘historic and annual event in Awori kingdom that is dedicated to celebrating her hero ‘’Iganmode’’ and promoting the exquisite culture and tradition of the Aworis’.

Explaining further on how the event will go, he said the week-long activities to hold as listed;

Day 1: Monday 13th December, 2021:

The Osugbo Prayer session at the Olota of Ota Palace.

Free Medical Outreach program to cater for the aged and the less privileged members of the community.

Visitation to Ijamido Motherless Babies Home.

 Day 2 Tuesday, 14th December, 2021

Youth Day: Lecture with topic; ‘Culture as a Module for Sustainable Leadership in Nigeria’ and Street Carnival.

Day 3: Wednesday 15th December, 2021

Cultural Day at the Olota’s Palace Open Ground by 3:00pm.

Day 4: Thursday 16th December, 2021

Installation of new chiefs at the Olota Palace by 10:00am.

Day 5: Friday 17th December, 2021.

Special Jumat Service at Ota Central Mosque by 1:00pm.

Day 6: Saturday 18th December, 2021.

Grand finale billed to take place at St Micheal’s / Ansar-u-deen Primary school, Ota by 10:00am.

 Day 7: Sunday 19th December, 2021.

Special Thanksgiving Service at the Living Faith Tabernacle (Winners Chapel, Ota).

Also addressing newsmen at the press conference, the Olota of Ota and Olofin Apesin Olode, HRM Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege, said that every Iganmode Cultural Festival comes with great improvement on previous ones. He added that the historical and spiritual event ‘has helped immensely in projecting the rich cultural values and norms of Ota people and by extension, all Awori People as a whole’.
